While there are hundred of tools online which you can use to monitor your website’s performance, I have narrowed down the list to a few that I think are essential for any small and growing business. Some of these are free to use, while others require a subscription. However, if you know how to take advantage of them then they can be quite helpful when wanting to beat the competition.
First on the list is Screaming Frog, an interactive SEO spider tool which can detect things like broken links, duplicate content, and meta data analysis. They have both a free version and a premium version valued at about $150.00/Year. This tool can reduce any redundancies on your site and help it flow better.
Next up is a personal favorite of mine, Key Word Finder. While the Google Keyword Planner is generally accepted as the universal SERP tool, KWFinder offers another level of analysis on long-tail keyword searches. With real time results on search volume and precise research, it’s the ultimate tool for measuring your website’s metrics when compared to the local competition. They offer both a free and subscription plan for their services.

For those of us who host our site with WordPress, Yoast has an excellent plugin which allows you to optimize your search rankings and manage your content. Features include meta descriptions and page title optimization, meta configuration, and content analysis. I recommend their recent blog post on the Importance of Site Structure.
There are plenty of other tools which can be useful to enhancing your productivity. If you have any suggestions feel free to comment below!
