Originally hailing from Long Island, Ally first moved to the Piedmont Triad six years ago so that she could pursue an education in Human Development and Family Studies at UNC-Greensboro. She currently works full-time as a teacher for pre-k students. Despite her busy schedule, Ally has been creating and selling art professionally for over a year.

Her favorite materials consist of watercolors, which she noted how beautiful it is when the paint mixes together on the paper. Ally also prefers to have control over the amount of water is used to create the textures. In addition, she also enjoys lining her works with ink pens, which serves to create a more polished look.

As far as inspiration, Ally focuses on pop-culture. The body of her work alludes to references from television to movies and music.

A popular character from one of the latest Star War’s movies, BB-8 is depicted here as a cat in this watercolor painting.

Ally’s rendition of BB-8 from Star Wars

I have been working on a series of characters from movies and TV shows as cats, and it has been really fun to do that. I like doing animals but my favorite right now to do are cats! I feel like my art would work well in children’s books and have been working on ideas for future books. I want to make people happy with my art, if they are having an off or bad day they can just scroll down their stream and see a cute cat as something or as a hedgehog or unicorn and feel a little better.

Ally also participates in the live stream videos hosted by Fungeon Studios. Check them out if you haven’t already, and tune in to future episodes for a chance to catch a glimpse of Ally’s work. Follow this link to watch an episode that she’s been featured in.
